Step 1 - Create New Version Spaces

Every "versionized" project space will need a new space for the latest version that is to be released. For example, Introduce, is split up (at the time of this writing) into several spaces: introduce, introduce11, introduce12, introduce13, and introduce14. A new "introduce15" space would be created for a (hypothetical) 1.5 release. In contrast, the 'Community' space is not split into versions. Therefore, no new spaces will need to be created for 'Community.'

To create a new version space, copy an existing version space (preferably the most current release) and name it according to the new version

  1. Navigate to the space you want to copy. This should be the most current release.
  2. Select Edit --> Administration --> Space Administration
  3. From panel on the left, select Copy Space.
  4. Enter in the new project name and namespace. Namespaces should be lowercase with no spaces are underscores. Following the format of other project spaces, Introduce 1.5 would be introduce15
    1. Use existing authors and dates: UNCHECK
    2. Copy comments: UNCHECK
    3. Copy attachments: CHECK
    4. Copy personal labels: CHECK
  5. Click Save.

You will be directed to the home page of the newly created space.
