Managing Administrators

Overview

Only users that have been granted administrative access to CDS will be able to access the administrative features of the CDS. The administrative features include the ability to monitor and manage delegated credentials and the ability to manage administrative access to the CDS.

Searching for Parties with Administrative Access

Administrative access to the CDS can be managed through the GAARDS UI. To list all the parties with administrative access to the CDS complete the following steps:

  1. Launch the GAARDS UI.
  2. Login as a CDS administrator.
  3. From the top menu bar select Account Management, then select Delegation Management, then select Access Control. This will bring up the Access Control window.
  4. From the Delegation Service drop down, select the Delegation Service you wish to search.
  5. Click the Search button, this will list all the parties with administrative access to the selected CDS.

Granting Administrative Access

Administrative access to the CDS can be managed through the GAARDS UI. To grant a party administrative access to the CDS complete the following steps:

  1. Launch the GAARDS UI.
  2. Login as a CDS administrator.
  3. From the top menu bar select Account Management, then select Delegation Management, then select Access Control. This will bring up the Access Control window.
  4. From the Delegation Service drop down, select the Delegation Service you wish grant a party administrative access to.
  5. Click the Add button, this will lauch the Add Administrator window.
  6. In Grid Identity text box enter the grid identity of the party you wish to grant administrative access to.  If you are a Dorian administrator you can user the Find button to search for a user.
  7. Click the Add button, this will grant the party administrative access to the CDS.

Revoking Administrative Access

Administrative access to the CDS can be managed through the GAARDS UI. To revoke a party's administrative access to the CDS complete the following steps:

  1. Launch the GAARDS UI.
  2. Login as a CDS administrator.
  3. From the top menu bar select Account Management, then select Delegation Management, then select Access Control. This will bring up the Access Control window.
  4. From the Delegation Service drop down, select the Delegation Service you wish to revoke a parties administrative access from.
  5. Click the Search button, this will list all the parties with administrative access to the selected CDS.
  6. Select the identity of the party you wish to revoke administrative access from.
  7. Click the Remove button, the selected party's administrative access will be revoked.
