The caBig Model Creation Guide walks you through the phases involved in creating a new caBIG information model. The information model consists of two components: an object model and a data model. The tutorial walks you through the modeling steps required to enable syntactic interoperability (by defining your data types in the object model) and also walks you though the steps required to enable semantic interoperability (via annotation of the object model). This is an optional tutorial that includes creating classes, tables, and semantic annotations as defined in the caBIG bootcamp model used in Tutorial 3b: caBIG Developer Boot Camp for caCORE SDK 4.1.1. This tutorial is optional because the finished model is provided in tutorial 3b. However, those new to model development will find this tutorial invaluable.
