Building caGrid Services

The following tutorial is broken up into two sections; Beginners and Advanced. The Beginners tutorial will walk the user through creation of a simple data service, deploying it, and invoking it. It will also show the user how to add other operations to the grid service. The advanced section will extend from the beginners session and will demonstrate securing a grid service as well as look at some other advanced topics of service modification and extension.

Pre Tutorial Install

Before taking the tutorial, you need to download and install the supporting files, by following the instructions here.

Beginner's Session

The beginner's tutorial session can be found here. Please make sure you have read and followed all pre-tutorial installation and validation steps above.

Advanced Session

The advanced tutorial session can be found here. Please make sure you have read and followed all pre-tutorial installation and validation steps above and have already followed the beginners tutorial session as this session builds on top of it. If you have not completed the beginner's tutorial, but feel comfortable with the concepts and operations it introduces, you may download the beginner's tutorial service and move on to the advanced session. It is not required to have the tutorial version of caGrid-1.0 to complete the beginners tutorial, however, it is for the advanced.
